A New Way to Find Those Beloved Deep Corporate Pockets

by Tom Durso on April 10th, 2008

One of the lessons I gleaned from the M.B.A. program from which I graduated was that regardless of your tax status or your mission, there’s one seminal necessity for success:

It’s all about the data.

Having the right information — however you define that — and having it readily available and up to date is paramount. Without it you’re feeling your way along, guessing, hoping. With it you can target your efforts — again, whatever they may be, from fundraising to communication to lobbying to serving your publics — and make maximum use of your resources.

And so the news that the NonProfit Times has joined with Noza, Inc., to compile and make available a free, searchable database of more than 4,000 corporate donations of at least $1 million is something for you to be aware of. How you use that info is up to you, of course, but you’ll be in far better shape with the data than without it. | 501(c)
