How to … Use Google to Your Advantage
At the Web 2.0 seminar I attended last month, there was a lot of talk about what Google’s products can do for nonprofits. The answer: quite a bit.
- Google awards grants to nonprofits, and simply by applying, your organization receives funding that can be applied to Google advertising.
- Google Alerts are a great way to stay on top of the latest news related to just about anything your nonprofit is concerned with, from your best prospects to best practices in your particular field.
- Those trusty Google searches can turn up what people are saying about you online, allowing you to put out fires before they become infernos.
- Google Analytics will give you a better picture of how Web users are reaching your site, so that you can go under the hood and use search-engine optimization (SEO) techniques to build a more direct path to your online presence.
