Retaining Volunteers | Talk About the Passion
“This is a great service. People can stay in their homes and still be served nice meals, and this should give all drivers a good feeling. It is a good service. I believe in it.”
Those are the words of Marilyn Fraser, who, with her husband, just retired after driving for Meals on Wheels of Hamilton County, Indiana, for nearly a quarter-century.
The Frasers are in their 80s.
Marilyn Fraser is going to continue volunteering at a local hospital. Meals on Wheels officials said she and her husband asked to help even on days when they weren’t scheduled to make any deliveries.
I believe in it.
Link your volunteers with your mission. It can be extraordinarily difficult to do. But do it right, and you will have a resource far more valuable than the heftiest check penned by your deepest-pocketed donor. | 501(c)
